Cancer Awareness Research: Moon S. Chen is the principal investigator for the Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness Research and Training (AANCART), a five-year cooperative agreement from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). In 2005, NCI renewed this cooperative agreement with UC Davis. AANCART is headquartered at the UC Davis Cancer Center and includes the following consortium members: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Institute, University of Washington, University of California San Francisco, University of California Los Angeles, University of Hawaii, San Francisco Medical Society Foundation, Public Health Institute, and the Hmong Women's Heritage Association. He is nationally recognized for his leadership in Asian American health concerns and for mobilizing national action to directly address cancer risk factors that affect Asian Americans.
Principal Investigator: Dr. Chen served as the principal investigator for more than 30 grants and research supplements devoted to Asian American health issues. In addition, he initiated a Capitol Hill forum, Cancer Crises Affecting Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
